Husband held for wife’s murder

Police have solved the blind murder case of a married woman found dead in Mohalla Ghausia within the jurisdiction of Civil Lines police station in Rawalpindi, arresting her husband who allegedly killed her over suspicion and domestic disputes.
According to police, the body of an unidentified woman was found in a street of Gulistan Colony, Mohalla Ghausia, on Oct 19 about four months ago. She had been strangled to death. After postmortem, police registered a case of blind murder on behalf of the state.
City Police Officer Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani assigned SP Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz to personally supervise the investigation and trace the suspect.
During investigation, police identified the woman through Nadra and other sources as Ambreen Bibi.
It was revealed that she had married a government employee named Bakhtiar about a year earlier. The man was already married and his first wife was living in Quetta.
After being transferred to Rawalpindi, he contracted a second marriage with the deceased and lived with her in a rented house in Gulistan Colony.
Police further discovered that the suspect had gone missing after the incident. The police team continued the search and arrested him yesterday.
