Jennifer Lopez says she's 'free' and single after Ben Affleck divorce
Jennifer Lopez says she is not dating after her Ben Affleck divorce, calling this stage of life her 'happy era'

Jennifer Lopez says she is focusing on herself and not dating following her divorce from Ben Affleck.
In a recent interview with Nightline, which was previewed on Good Morning America, the multi-hyphenate star opened up about life after the couple’s 2024 split. Lopez described the current phase of her life as her “happy era,” explaining that she feels a sense of independence she had not experienced before.
“I’m in my happy era. I think, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m free; I’m on my own,” Lopez said during the interview.
The singer and actress explained that she has spent much of her adult life in relationships and rarely experienced long periods on her own. She said stepping away from work and taking time to process the end of her marriage helped her focus on personal growth.
According to Lopez, she took a year off after the split, canceling professional commitments and spending time at home to reflect on what had happened rather than immediately returning to work or another relationship.
When asked directly if she was dating, Lopez quickly dismissed the idea, saying she is not currently interested in starting a new relationship.
The star also highlighted the importance of family during this period, noting that her twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with former husband Marc Anthony, are preparing to graduate and begin college.
Lopez said she is currently focused on her career, family, and personal well-being, emphasizing that she feels “happy,” “healthy,” and grateful during this stage of her life.
