Man commits suicide after shooting wife

Woman injured over domestic dispute shifted to hospital

DIJKOT:

A man shot his wife and committed suicide over a domestic.

Police took the body into custody and shifted the injured woman to hospital.

According to reports, Nadeem, a vegetable vendor and resident of Madni Park, had recently married 20-year-old Rida, a resident of Jamia Abad.

The woman asked her husband to take her to her mother's home. When Nadeem refused, she insisted that he should at least take her outside. This led to a heated argument between the couple.

Nadeem allegedly called his wife into a room and fired a shot at her head before shooting himself. Both were severely injured and were shifted to a hospital after receiving initial medical aid. Nadeem later succumbed to his injuries, while his wife was stated to be out of danger.

In another incident in Shams Pura, a 50-year-old man, Ahmed, allegedly consumed poison after being distressed by poverty and domestic problems. He was shifted to a hospital but died there.

In Chak No. 357-GB, 45-year-old Nasreen Akhtar reportedly consumed acid after an altercation with her son Umair. She was shifted to a hospital.
