Bruno Mars has returned to the top of the album charts with a major comeback moment. His latest record, The Romantic, has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking the singer’s first chart topping album in more than a decade.

The album launched with 186,000 equivalent album units in the United States during its first week. The figure combines traditional album sales, track sales and streaming numbers, reflecting how listeners now consume music across multiple platforms.

For Mars, the milestone is particularly significant because his last No. 1 album arrived back in 2013 with Unorthodox Jukebox. That project climbed to the top of the chart several months after its release and helped cement Mars as one of the defining pop voices of the 2010s. The gap of nearly 13 years between No. 1 albums marks one of the longest waits for a living male solo artist to return to the top.

The strong debut for The Romantic was powered by a mix of sales and streaming success. More than 93,000 copies were sold in traditional album purchases during the opening week, while the album’s songs generated almost 94 million on demand streams. Vinyl collectors also played a major role, with around 48,000 vinyl copies sold across multiple versions of the record.

The album’s lead single, I Just Might, had already set the stage for the strong debut. The track became Mars’ 10th No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year and quickly built anticipation for the full project.

While Mars dominated the top spot, several other major artists also made waves in the latest chart update. Gorillaz debuted in the top 10 with their album The Mountain, continuing the band’s long track record of successful releases. Meanwhile the global K pop group BLACKPINK returned to the chart with their project Deadline, marking another strong showing for the group following their previous chart topping success.

Singer songwriter Mitski also joined the top 10 with her new album Nothing’s About To Happen to Me. The release delivered the strongest opening week of her career so far, highlighting the continued growth of her fan base.

Elsewhere on the chart, established stars like Bad Bunny and Morgan Wallen continued to hold strong positions with their recent projects.

For Mars, however, the spotlight firmly belongs to The Romantic. After years focused on collaborations and selective releases, the singer’s return with a full solo album has clearly resonated with listeners. The chart topping debut confirms that his mix of pop, funk and R&B still commands massive attention across the music industry.
