KARACHI:

Millat-e-Jafaria Pakistan organised a large condolence gathering at Nishtar Park to pay tribute to the honourable martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, and to remember those martyred during protests in Karachi and other parts of the country.

Addressing the gathering, speakers honoured the sacrifices of the martyrs, stating that Millat-e-Jafaria would never forget their contributions. They demanded an end to American influence and interference in Pakistan and called on the government to immediately withdraw from the Gaza Peace Board.

The speakers also called for the immediate release of protesters arrested during demonstrations in Islamabad. They further urged authorities to register a case regarding the killing of young men in Karachi, allegedly by US Marines, and to bring those responsible to justice through legal proceedings.

Numerous religious scholars, zakireen (religious speakers), and representatives of various organisations participated. A large number of men, women, and children were also present.

The speakers reiterated their strong support for Ayatollah Khamenei's principled stance on the issues of Palestine and Kashmir, and emphasised that the people of Pakistan reject what they described as the alleged "Greater America-Israel" plan.

They condemned the bombing carried out by the United States and Israel, which reportedly killed 165 innocent civilians, including schoolchildren, calling it a grave crime against humanity.

The gathering also condemned the arrests of protesters nationwide following Ayatollah Khamenei's martyrdom and demanded the immediate release of all detainees.

The speakers described the killing of 11 unarmed protesters during demonstrations as deeply tragic and urged the government to summon the US ambassador, formally record its protest, and declare him persona non grata. Legal cases, they added, should also be registered against the American Marines who allegedly admitted to the killings.

The speakers called for a public holiday in Karachi on the occasion of Youm-e-Quds to enable people to express solidarity with the Palestinian cause. They further alleged that the US embassy and consulate act as centres of conspiracies and terrorism against Pakistan and the Muslim world, and demanded their immediate closure, representing the voice of Pakistan's 250 million citizens.
