Dumper driver, helper detained after alleged hit-and-run attempt

A dumper driver and his helper were detained after citizens chased the vehicle following an alleged traffic accident involving motorcyclists near 2-Minute Chowrangi in North Karachi.

According to police, they received information that a dumper had allegedly hit motorcyclists and that the driver was attempting to flee the scene. Citizens reportedly pursued the vehicle and informed the police about the incident.

Police officials said the dumper was intercepted near Nagan Chowrangi, where officers managed to stop it. A police officer then boarded the vehicle with the driver, and the dumper was taken into custody and is being shifted to the New Karachi police station.

Witnesses and local residents alleged that the dumper had struck a motorcycle carrying a family and then tried to escape, prompting people in the area to chase the vehicle.

However, the SHO of New Karachi police station said that so far no injured person from the alleged accident has arrived at any government hospital.
