Man killed in firing after petrol pump dispute

Argument over filling fuel can turns violent

DASKA:

A man was killed and another injured after a dispute over filling petrol in a container escalated into gunfire at a private petrol pump on Daska Road, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred when several individuals engaged in a heated argument over the purchase of petrol in a gallon at the fuel station. The verbal dispute quickly turned violent, and one of the suspects opened fire during the altercation.

As a result of the firing, two people were injured, including a citizen identified as Sabtain, who sustained critical injuries.

He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his wounds.

Upon receiving information, a heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene, collected evidence and launched a search operation to trace the suspects.

District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot Captain (retd) Dost Muhammad took immediate notice of the incident and ordered the arrest of the main suspect within four hours.

Acting on his directions, a police team led by the DSP City Circle and SHO Hajipura conducted a swift operation and arrested the main accused, Khawaja Muneeb, within four hours of the incident.

Police said raids were underway at various locations to apprehend other suspects involved in the firing.
