ISLAMABAD:

The district administration sealed 7 petrol pumps in the federal capital after reports that some stations refused to supply fuel to citizens. A report issued by the administration said 145 petrol pumps operate across the city, while more than 2.59 million litres of petrol and 1.58 million litres of diesel remain in stock despite heavy demand.

The report was released after a large number of vehicles lined up at petrol stations in different areas of Islamabad. Officials said teams inspected fuel stations across the city to check supply and ensure that citizens received fuel according to the rules.

According to the district administration, the city currently has 145 petrol pumps that provide petrol and diesel to the public. Due to the rush of vehicles on last night, 8 petrol pumps reported a shortage of petrol, while 5 pumps ran out of diesel for some time. Officials said the shortage occurred because of high demand during the night.

The administration stated that fuel supply across the city remains available and that large reserves are still present at different stations. The report showed that petrol pumps in Islamabad currently hold 2,590,736 litres of petrol in their storage tanks. In addition, 1,583,362 litres of diesel are also available at various fuel stations.
