Wendy’s offering $100,000 job to become its 'chief tasting officer'
Fans can apply to taste menu items and create content for the brand

Wendy’s is giving fans the opportunity to get paid to eat its food with a newly announced role called “Chief Tasting Officer.”
The fast-food chain recently posted the job listing online, describing it as a remote position with a salary of $100,000 and occasional travel, mainly to nearby Wendy’s restaurants.
According to the listing, the role will involve tasting Wendy’s menu items, producing social media content and potentially appearing in advertisements for the brand. The successful candidate may also create quarterly vlog updates and other content highlighting different menu items and taste trends.
Applicants are required to submit a video explaining why they should be selected for the role. The company has encouraged candidates to showcase their tasting abilities, creativity and personality, with bonus points for including Wendy’s branding, products or restaurants in the video.
The listing humorously outlines the basic requirements for the job, stating applicants must have “a human mouth. A pulse. Opinions. Creativity. Taste.”
Perks mentioned in the posting include getting paid to eat, having a custom Chief Tasting Officer email signature and the chance to represent the company’s menu.
The concept follows a similar marketing move by Burger King in 2025, when the fast-food chain hired a “Whopperologist” to visit restaurants and evaluate the consistency, flavor and quality of its signature burger.
