Rawalpindi targets underweight meat sales
.

The Livestock Department and District Price Control Authority have declared it illegal for chicken and meat sellers to provide less than one kilogramme after cleaning, stating that customers must receive a full kilogramme.
Authorities have warned that any shopkeeper, butcher, or meat vendor who sells 900 grams instead of 1,000 grams after cleaning will face strict action, including fines and challans.
Each vendor is now legally obliged to supply one kilogramme of chicken or meat per purchase, irrespective of trimming or cleaning. A circular regarding this directive has been issued to all Price Control Magistrates across the province.
