Jim Carrey appeared at the 2026 César Awards with his daughter, grandson and long-time partner Min Ah, where he publicly acknowledged their relationship while accepting an honorary prize.
The actor received the Honorary César for his contribution to film at the ceremony. Previous recipients of the accolade have included Bette Davis, Sophia Loren, Steven Spielberg and Julia Roberts.
Carrey made the evening a family occasion, attending with his daughter Jane Erin Carrey, his grandson Jackson and Min Ah. During his acceptance speech, delivered in French, he thanked those closest to him.
“Thank you to my wonderful family, my daughter Jane, and my grandson Jackson,” he said. “As I love you now and forever.”
He also addressed his partner directly, saying, “Thank you to my sublime companion, Min Ah. I love you, Min Ah. And finally, thank you to the funniest man I have ever known: my father Percy Joseph Carrey, who taught me the value of love, generosity and laughter.”
Carrey and Min Ah were first linked in February 2022 after they were photographed leaving a charity comedy show hosted by Judd Apatow in Los Angeles. Min Ah, also known as Minzi, is reported to be an artist and actress based in the city.
The actor has generally kept his private life out of the spotlight in recent years. His appearance at the César Awards, accompanied by his family and partner, marked a rare public moment that addressed long-standing speculation about his relationship.
The ceremony recognised Carrey’s decades-long career in film, with the actor using his speech to express gratitude to both his family and his late father.
