Four sentenced to death in murder case

The Sessions courts on Saturday sentenced four individuals to death and imposed fines totaling Rs2 million in connection with a brutal murder case took place in the limits of Jatli police station. Additionally, two suspects involved in drug smuggling were handed prison terms of 19 years.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Gujar Khan, Abdullah Usman, at the Tehsil Court in Gujar Khan, presided over the case. The four convicts — Mohsin Ali, Ameer Hamza, Nadeem Akhtar, and Amjad Ali — were found guilty of killing Muhammad Irfan, the husband of the complainant's sister, and his brother-in-law Waqar Ayub.

The murder occurred while the victims were returning home after attending court proceedings, when the assailants blocked their path and opened fire.

Each of the four convicts was sentenced to death and fined Rs500,000. They were taken into custody from the courtroom immediately after the verdict. The court ordered that the convicts remain on death row until execution and that the fines be recovered through the sale of the convicts' movable and immovable assets.
