Lamar Odom completes rehab program after DUI arrest and marijuana concerns
Former NBA star Lamar Odom exits 30-day rehab in Los Angeles following arrest and concerns over marijuana

Former professional basketball player Lamar Odom has completed a 30-day rehabilitation program in Los Angeles, according to TMZ. The 46-year-old checked out of the treatment facility after voluntarily seeking help following a recent driving under the influence (DUI) arrest in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Odom, who previously played in the NBA and was once married to Khloé Kardashian, entered rehab at iRely Recovery with the goal of addressing his marijuana use. His manager, Gina Rodriguez, told TMZ and other outlets that Odom was concerned his marijuana consumption could potentially lead him back to harder substances, prompting him to take proactive steps toward recovery.
At the time of his January arrest, Odom denied being under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. However, police reports indicated that his vehicle smelled of marijuana, and he admitted to having used it earlier that day. He was later released on bail and subsequently chose to enter an inpatient program.
Speaking publicly in recent interviews, Odom acknowledged his long-standing struggles with substance use and the factors that contributed to them. During an appearance on a podcast hosted by former NBA players, he reflected on how early exposure to drugs and personal trauma influenced his behavior. He has previously been open about experimenting with substances at a young age and battling addiction during and after his basketball career.
Odom completed the program successfully and is now focused on maintaining a healthier lifestyle. His representative stated that he “feels amazing” and is committed to continuing his recovery journey.
The former athlete has also reportedly begun working on a new business initiative involving an artificial intelligence-powered platform aimed at helping users find wellness and treatment centers across the United States. The project aligns with his personal experiences and ongoing advocacy for recovery resources.
Odom’s history with substance abuse includes a widely reported 2015 overdose incident in Nevada that left him in a coma. His recovery at the time drew significant public attention and marked a turning point in his life.
His recent completion of rehab represents another step in his continued efforts to prioritize his health and long-term wellbeing.
