ISLAMABAD:

PTI's jailed leader Dr Yasmin Rashid has approached the Supreme Court challenging PML-N President Nawaz Sharif's electoral victory in 2024 elections.

The appeal filed in the Supreme Court challenges the election tribunal's decision, which rejected her plea against Nawaz's victory from a Lahore constituency.

It argues that the tribunal dismissed the petition on technical grounds and failed to properly examine the facts and the law. The petition states that alterations in Form 45 violate constitutional requirements for electoral transparency.

It further contends that issuing notices to candidates before compiling final results is a legal requirement, but no such notice was issued. The appeal requests the Supreme Court to set aside the election tribunal's decision and declare Dr Yasmin Rashid successful.
