Slay the Spire 2 launches Early Access on March 5 with new four player co-op
Slay the Spire 2 confirms March 5 Early Access release and four-player co-op mode

Slay the Spire 2 will launch in Early Access on March 5, developer Mega Crit has confirmed, alongside the reveal of a new four-player co-operative mode.
A new trailer unveiled the release date and showcased animated sequences and fresh gameplay footage. The sequel follows the original Slay the Spire, a title widely credited with driving the popularity of roguelike deckbuilders.
In addition to its single-player structure, Slay the Spire 2 will introduce co-op play for up to four players. According to an update on the game’s Steam page, the new mode will include “multiplayer-specific cards” and “powerful team synergies”.
The Early Access version will also expand the roster of playable characters. Two new characters, the Necrobinder and the Regent, will be available at launch.
They join returning characters, including the Defect, alongside the Ironclad and the Silent. The Watcher, a character from the first game, is not currently listed among the playable options for Early Access.
Mega Crit had previously indicated that the sequel would arrive in Early Access in March, but the latest trailer confirms the specific date. The game will be released on PC.
Early Access will allow players to experience the game while development continues, with further updates and potential additions expected over time.
As with the original title, Slay the Spire 2 blends strategic card-based combat with procedurally generated encounters and branching paths.
The original Slay the Spire gained a strong following for its mix of deckbuilding mechanics and roguelike progression, and the sequel aims to build on that foundation with new systems and multiplayer functionality.
