Stephanie Pratt slams brother Spencer Pratt’s Los Angeles mayoral campaign

Stephanie Pratt has publicly criticised her brother Spencer Pratt’s campaign for Los Angeles mayor, stating she will not support his bid for office.
The former The Hills star addressed the issue on X on February 14, writing, “LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor.” She added, “A vote for him is a vote for stupidity.”
Spencer has done great work for the palisades. But LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor. A vote for him is a vote for stupidity.
In further posts, Stephanie questioned her brother’s motivations. “He’s just trying to stay famous and sell his memoir don’t be fooled,” she wrote. “In an ideal world the palisades would have their own mayor and police department. I would love [for] him to be mayor of [the] Palisades but not LA with 4 million people. I’d be impressed if a republican could turn LA democrats thb.” She continued, “At least hire someone with work experience who wasn’t in a cult. I’m WORRIED about LA. I have no problem with Spencer playing government but our city needs help.”
Spencer Pratt announced his candidacy on January 7, 2026, marking one year since the California wildfires that killed 12 people and destroyed more than 6,800 homes near the Pacific Palisades. Speaking at the “They Let Us Burn” demonstration, he said, “The system in Los Angeles isn’t struggling, it’s fundamentally broken.” He added, “Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I’m done waiting for someone to take real action. That’s why I am running for mayor. And let me be clear, this just isn’t a campaign, this is a mission, and we’re gonna expose the system.”
In recent months, Pratt has focused on wildfire recovery efforts and has criticised Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom. He and his wife, Heidi Montag, lost their home in the January 2025 wildfires and share two children, Gunner and Ryker.
