Saving cattle: Animals vaccinated by district government

The district government launched an emergency vaccination campaign to protect the livestock against post-monsoon diseases.
EDO livestock Dr Zain-ul-Abedin said that 0.2 million domestic animals have been vaccinated. “This was crucial because after the destruction of crops the livestock is the only source of livelihood for inhabitants of the flood-affected areas,” he said. “But fortunately, with timely immunisation, a large number of animals were saved.” The administration also distributed free fodder worth Rs2 million.
