APHC leader pays tribute to Pakistan on Kashmir Solidarity Day
Altaf Ahmed Bhat recalled that Kashmir Solidarity Day was initiated by late Qazi Hussain Ahmed in 1990

Senior leader All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Altaf Ahmed Bhat, has paid a rich tribute to the people of Pakistan, the civil and military leadership and all political and religious parties for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day with unity, resolve and unwavering commitment to the Kashmiri cause.
In a press statement, Altaf Ahmed Bhat thanked the Government of Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League (N), Jamaat-e-Islami, and all religious and political parties for standing shoulder to shoulder with the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He said Pakistan has always stood by Kashmiris on every front; political, diplomatic and moral; and continues to be their strongest voice at the international level.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat recalled that Kashmir Solidarity Day was initiated by late Qazi Hussain Ahmed in 1990, at a time when thousands of Kashmiris migrated from Indian occupied Kashmir to Muzaffarabad. That period marked one of the darkest chapters in Kashmiri history, a month of massacres when Indian occupation forces killed hundreds of innocent Kashmiris across different areas of IIOJK. He said the observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day keeps the memory of those martyrs alive and renews the collective commitment to their unfinished mission.
He also acknowledged the consistent support extended by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and appreciated the current government for continuing Pakistan's principled stance on Kashmir despite global pressures.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat particularly praised Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stating that his clear and uncompromising stance on Kashmir; and Pakistan's decisive victory in the Marka-e-Haq (2025); has once again brought the Kashmir issue into global focus. He said the victory humbled Indian arrogance and shattered India's false narrative at the diplomatic level.
"The victory revived the Kashmir cause globally and buried India's narrative diplomatically," he remarked.
