Pashto singer Nazia Iqbal’s husband seeks Pakistan Origin Card from PHC
Court issues notices after Javed Fiza petitions for POC and identity documents for children

Javed Fiza, the husband of Pashto singer Nazia Iqbal, has approached the Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking the issuance of a Pakistan Origin Card (POC) for himself and identity documents for their children.
The petition was filed in the PHC, where Fiza was represented by his counsel, Advocate Saifullah Mohib Kakakhel. The court issued notices to the federal government and other relevant authorities, seeking their replies in the matter.
In his petition, Fiza stated that his wife is a Pakistani citizen and that their children were born in Pakistan. He told the court that he had previously held a Pakistani national identity card, which was later blocked due to family disputes.

The petitioner said they possess a valid marriage certificate as well as birth certificates of their children. He requested the court to direct the concerned authorities to issue him a Pakistan Origin Card and to provide Smart Cards or Form-B to his children.
The petition also referred to difficulties faced by Nazia Iqbal in the past. In 2014, the singer, who hails from Swat, was unable to return to Pakistan due to a visa issue while touring Afghanistan.
According to the petition, Afghan immigration officials confiscated her passport when she arrived in Kabul in August that year, saying she did not have a double-entry visa. Although the visa was valid until September, authorities said she had already entered once and could not re-enter the country on the same visa.
The court is expected to take up the matter after receiving responses from the respondents.
