“Before I thank God, I’m gonna say ‘ICE out,’” the 31-year-old artist said. He went on to add, “We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens; we are humans, and we are Americans.”

Last week, Trump said he would skip the Super Bowl, criticizing the selection of halftime performers including Bad Bunny and Green Day, both of whom have publicly opposed his presidency. “I’m anti-them,” Trump said. “I think it’s a terrible choice.”

The backlash unfolds amid nationwide protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement, following fatal incidents involving ICE agents in Minnesota. Government data shows ICE detainee numbers have surged past 70,000, a sharp increase from last year.
