Four killed, dozens injured in bus crash

A minibus carrying bridegroom Muhammad Kashif's wedding guests collided head-on with a truck, killing four people and injuring 30 others.

Four of the injured,who were in critical condition, were shifted to Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur for treatment.

The incident occurred near the village of Gogran at around 8:00pm, just 5km from the guests' homes, as the wedding party was returning from Jahaniya.

Among the deceased were the bridegroom's three maternal cousins — Rukhsana, Akram, and Hasan Ali — and another female relative, Rabia.

Rescue teams rushed the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital in Lodhran, where medical teams stabilised the majority, with the most serious cases referred to Bahawalpur.

Deputy Commissioner of Lodhran Muhammad Ashraf and ADCG Syed Liaqat Ali Gilani visited the hospital to oversee rescue and medical assistance.
