High-stakes heists rock the city

The city witnessed a spate of high-profile robberies as suspects struck both residential homes and a petrol pump in Karachi's industrial zones.
In the first incident, masked intruders stormed a residence in Pak Colony near Bara Board, held the family hostage, and made off with over 50 tolas of gold, Rs one million in cash, and other valuables. Police launched an investigation, reviewing nearby CCTV footage and geo-fencing data to track the suspects, who fled within 15 minutes. The family said the intruders confined them in a room before looting, highlighting the meticulous planning behind the raid. Authorities are also examining possible links to previous robberies in the area.
Meanwhile, three motorcyclists robbed a petrol pump cashier of Rs 3.3 million near Singer Chowrangi, Korangi Industrial Area. According to the victim Muhammad Arif, he was transporting the cash when the armed assailants stopped him, threatened him, and seized the money before fleeing.
