Two foreign workers among 8 injured in fire

A fire broke out at a tile factory in Allama Iqbal Industrial Estate due to gas leakage, leaving eight workers injured, including two Chinese nationals.

According to sources, the incident occurred in the industrial area of Chak Jhumra tehsil. The fire erupted during repair work on a furnace after a gas pipe leakage triggered flames.

The blaze engulfed factory equipment and workers, injuring two Chinese nationals, Chen Shi Shong and Liang Shi, along with local workers, 22-year-old Ikramul Haq, 26-year-old Samar Abbas, 22-year-old Sajid Ghani, 30-year-old Javed, 25-year-old Amanullah, and 28-year-old Naeem.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot, extinguished the fire, and provided first aid to the two foreign nationals, while the remaining six injured workers were shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Police officials also reached the spot and initiated legal proceedings.
