HYDERABAD:

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started a corruption probe against Sindh Secretary Irrigation Zareef Iqbal Khero. The provincial secretary has been directed to submit a range of documents with regard to the investigation in the NAB's regional office in Sukkur district by January 26.

NAB has also sought complete records of the Irrigation Department Chief Engineer Mansoor Memon and Executive Engineer Pervez Kanwar.

"Corruption and corrupt practices by way of misuse of authority, misappropriation of government funds and accumulation of assets beyond known resources of income," reads the allegation leveled by a complainant whose identity has not been disclosed.

In the letter addressed to Sindh Secretary SGA&CD, NAB's Assistant Director called for issuing directions to officials who possess the required official record to appear before the NAB officials on the given date.

Complete service profile; details of salaries, loans, rewards and bonuses; asset declarations; bank accounts and details of disciplinary proceedings, if any, will have to be submitted.
