Charli xcx says she wants Brat era to end
"I am sort of really wanting Brat to stop and actually really pivot as far away from it as possible," Charli xcx said

Charli XCX has said she is ready to move on from her Brat era as she prepares for the premiere of her new mockumentary film The Moment. Speaking ahead of the film’s debut, the pop star reflected on the massive success of the 2024 album while making it clear that she is eager to pivot creatively.
Addressing audiences, Charli said, “Right now, unlike the me in The Moment, I am sort of really wanting Brat to stop and actually really pivot as far away from it as possible.” She stressed that the desire to move on does not come from dissatisfaction with the project, adding, “And that’s not because I don’t love it. It’s just because I think for all of us as artists, you want to challenge yourself.”
The Moment offers a satirical take on pop stardom, following a fictionalised version of Charli navigating fame, expectations and creative pressure in the wake of a hugely successful album. The singer noted that the character in the film is closely connected to her real-life experiences, though exaggerated for effect.
“I’m obviously quite related to my character,” she said. “I would like to think I’m not as much of a nightmare as Charli in the film.”
While Brat remains a defining chapter in her career, Charli’s comments signal a clear shift in direction as she looks toward new sounds, new projects and a fresh phase of artistic exploration beyond the era that dominated pop culture.
