MUET awards degrees to 1,007 graduates

The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, at its 29th convocation on Saturday awarded academic degrees to 1,007 graduates. The recipients included 34 scholars of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), 75 masters of engineering graduates, and 898 bachelors.
Nawal Shaikh, daughter of Riaz Hussain Shaikh, of the Mathematics Department, received two gold and one silver medal after being declared the best graduate. Likewise, Soonam, daughter of Mukesh Kumar Lohano from the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Management, also received a gold medal and a silver medal. Tayaba, daughter of Imran Shaikh, and Uqba, daughter of Khalid Memon, were decorated with gold and silver medals for being the faculty toppers in the Electronics and Garments Manufacturing departments.
Sultan Salahuddin, son of Asimuddin Khan Yousufzai, emerged as the only male graduate to secure a gold and a silver medal, representing the Chemical Engineering department.
