'Run With Us' marathon set for Jan 25

The sixth edition of the "Run With Us" Islamabad Marathon will be held in the federal capital on Sunday, 25 January, with the race scheduled to begin at 8:00am.
Thousands of participants, including ambassadors from various countries, representatives from different walks of life, men, women and children of all ages, are expected to take part. The marathon will feature five race categories and is being organised with the special support of the Islamabad district administration, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), traffic police and Islamabad Police.
The announcement was made by race host Qasim Naz during a press conference at the National Press Club, Islamabad. He said the Islamabad Marathon has become one of Pakistan's most prominent sporting events, with more than 6,000 participants expected this year, including male and female athletes from Pakistan, Asia, Europe, North Africa, the United States, Canada and other regions of the world. The event, he added, will project Islamabad as a vibrant, welcoming and capable host city for international sporting events.
The marathon will include five categories designed to accommodate runners of all ages and skill levels: a 42-kilometre full marathon, 21-kilometre half marathon, 15-kilometre, 10-kilometre, and a five-kilometre race for children under 14.
