Fatal road crash in Kotri leaves 8 dead

Separately, three people died and three others were injured in traffic accidents in different parts of Karachi

At least eight people were killed when a dumper collided with a car near a rice warehouse in Kotri district on Friday, Sindh police said.

According to Express News, the family was travelling from Hyderabad to Thatta when the accident occurred. The victims were residents of the Indus Pahari area of Latifabad in Hyderabad.

Rescue efforts were launched to retrieve the bodies from the wreckage, with local residents assisting by cutting through parts of the mangled vehicle. Authorities faced difficulties extracting the victims, as the car had been completely crushed in the collision.

Police confirmed that the deceased included three girls, two boys, one woman, and two men.

Meanwhile, three people were killed and three others injured in separate traffic accidents in different parts of Karachi late on Friday night, police and rescue officials said.

In the first incident, two teenage motorcyclists were killed and another critically injured after their motorcycle collided with a trailer near Future Mor, close to Al-Jannat Hotel in the Sharafi Goth area. The victims were identified as 18-year-old Asim and 17-year-old Rehman, while 18-year-old Talha, who sustained critical injuries, was shifted to hospital for treatment.

Rescue officials said the accident occurred when the motorcycle struck the trailer. Sharafi Goth SHO Qamar Abbas confirmed the incident and added that the victims were residents of Mansehra Colony. The trailer driver fled the scene, and the vehicle was taken into police custody for further investigation.

In a separate incident, one person was killed and two others injured near Jamali Bridge on Super Highway. The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Maula Bakhsh, while the injured were 45-year-old Arif and 32-year-old Faraz. The body and injured individuals were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

According to Sachal police, Bakhsh was driving a Suzuki vehicle towards Sazbi Mandi when it collided with another vehicle travelling ahead. He was a resident of Moach Goth. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, the police said.
