Pindi WASA aligns pay, rules with Lahore
Agency also raises summer and winter uniform allowances

The second meeting of the Rawalpindi Water and Sanitation Agency's (WASA) governing body approved the agenda to adopt WASA Lahore's service rules, regulations, and pay and allowances structure for the civic agency.
Following this approval, all recruitments, promotions, salaries and allowances of WASA Rawalpindi employees will be aligned with WASA Lahore.
The objective of this decision is to enforce uniform service rules and regulations for WASA institutions across Punjab to ensure institutional harmony.
The governing body also approved an increase in uniform allowances for employees.
The ceiling for summer uniforms has been increased from Rs1,600 to Rs3,500, while the allowance for winter uniforms has been raised from Rs2,000 to Rs5,000.
Under another key agenda item, the establishment of a planning and development directorate at WASA Rawalpindi was also approved.
The creation of this directorate will enable WASA to ensure improved planning, designing and effective implementation of its projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema said that WASA Rawalpindi plays a vital role in providing basic facilities such as clean drinking water and sewerage to citizens. All possible measures are being taken to further strengthen WASA so that public issues can be resolved promptly and efficiently.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Secretary Housing and Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department, Managing Director WASA Rawalpindi Muhammad Saleem Ashraf, Director Punjab WASA Authority Zamir Hussain along with other WASA officials.
