KARACHI:

Safe Journalism and the Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) hosted the launch of an investigative report and a panel discussion on the murder investigation of journalist Shan Dahar, 'Truth Denied: How Pakistani Authorities Built an Unsolvable Case', at IBA Karachi on Wednesday, with Sindh Minister for Labour, Human Resources and Social Protection Saeed Ghani as the chief guest.

'Truth Denied' was published under A Safer World for the Truth, a global initiative led by Free Press Unlimited (FPU) in collaboration with the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and Reporters Without Borders (RSF). The project carried out an in-depth investigation into the murder of journalist Zakir Hussain Dahar — known as Shan Dahar — who was killed in Badah, Sindh, on January 1, 2014. IBA Executive Director Dr Akbar S Zaidi said "Our soldiers and our journalists both play a role in keeping Pakistan secure."
