Fresh snow spell lowers mercury

BALAKOT:

Cold winds swept the region following snowfall in the upper parts of Balakot tehsil. The fresh wave of snow experienced in various places of Kaghan Valley further increased the intensity of cold in the area.

The weather remained cloudy for all of yesterday in Balakot and surrounding areas, as light snow fell in Naran, Kaghan and Shogran. Although, Shogran Road was opened for traffic, the recent spell of snow affected traffic flow. After the snowfall, the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) technical staff cleared the snow from Shogran Road and sprinkled salt on the asphalt to prevent accidents and facilitate both locals and tourists visiting Shogran.
