RAWALPINDI:

In the rape and pregnancy case involving a 13-year-old domestic worker in the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station, the court on Tuesday granted a three-day physical remand of a newly nominated suspect, Abdul Wahab.

Civil Judge Adil Sarwar Sial ordered that the newly accused be thoroughly investigated and produced again before the court on January 23.

Earlier, the victim, identified as Zunaira, and her guardian, Ghulam Fatima wife of Zahoor, had declared the initially nominated accused, Adil, innocent and subsequently named Abdul Wahab as the alleged perpetrator of the rape.

Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge Afshan Ijaz Sufi has directed that the victim be handed over from the CPWB to her elder married sister.
