ISLAMABAD:

Three judges who were included as additional members of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on an ad hoc basis were sworn in as permanent inclusions on Monday.

The oath ceremony for Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, Justice Muhammad Asif, and Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas was held at the Common Room of the Islamabad High Court, where Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Sarfraz Dogar administered the oath.

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, judges from the high court and district courts, Islamabad High Court Bar President Wajid Gilani and Secretary Manzoor Jajja, lawyers and court reporters.

The appointment notification for the three judges was read aloud by the IHC registrar. The Ministry of Law issued the official notification for their appointment, which was approved by the president.

Before their appointment as permanent judges, the three justices had served for one year as additional judges at the high court.

Last week, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had approved by majority vote the confirmation of the three as permanent judges of the IHC.
