Multan rail stations solarised

MULTAN:

All major Pakistan Railways (PR) stations in Multan division have been converted to solar energy.

According to sources in the divisional superintendent (DS) office, the solarisation started from Multan Cantt Railway Station and was later extended to Multan City, Khanewal and Sahiwal.

Officials said the move had resulted in significant savings in electricity bills since the transition. More savings are expected once the net metering system becomes fully operational at all stations.

The officials said the net metering project is in its final stages and likely to be completed in a few weeks. The funds required for the purpose have been provided.
