Inflation wave builds ahead of Ramazan

With nearly a month left until the holy month of Ramazan, prices of essential food items, vegetables, pulses and fruits have begun rising sharply.

As Ramazan approaches, inflationary pressure on daily necessities has intensified, with prices of wheat flour, sugar, ghee and cooking oil also climbing steadily.

Market observers warn that if the supply of Ramazan essentials is not aligned with demand within the next two weeks, particularly by Shab-e-Barat, a massive wave of inflation may become impossible to contain.
