Missing child case resolved

KARACHI:

The case of a suspected child abduction from a family park in North Nazimabad has concluded with investigators confirming that three-year-old Anas was not kidnapped but had gone missing while playing.

According to Haidery Market police, Anas had visited the Block F park with his cousin and disappeared during play. After failing to locate him, the cousin returned home. Meanwhile, a newlywed couple from Liaquatabad, also visiting the park, found the child and informed the park's security guard. The guard refused to take responsibility or accept the couple's contact number, instructing them to take the child with them.

The couple took Anas home and cared for him. When a video of them leaving the park with the child went viral on social media, they contacted police and handed Anas over to his family in the presence of law enforcement.

Investigators revealed the couple had married five months ago and said they were frightened, which is why they didn't approach police earlier. They also stated that Anas had a high fever when found and was given medical treatment.
