HBO Max renews A24 streaming deal as new films like Marty Supreme join lineup

HBO Max has renewed its multiyear streaming agreement with indie studio A24, ensuring the company’s films will continue to stream exclusively on HBO and HBO Max during the Pay-1 television window in the United States.

The renewed licensing pact strengthens the long-running partnership between Warner Bros. Discovery and A24, which first launched in December 2023 following the expiration of A24’s previous deal with Showtime.

Under the updated agreement, HBO Max subscribers will gain access to a slate of upcoming A24 releases as they enter the streaming window. Among the most anticipated titles are Marty Supreme, starring Timothée Chalamet, and The Moment, led by pop star Charli xcx. The deal also includes streaming rights to dozens of films from A24’s extensive library, further expanding HBO Max’s curated movie offerings.

Warner Bros. Discovery highlighted the strong performance of A24 titles on the platform, noting that roughly half of the studio’s Pay-1 releases ranked among HBO Max’s top 10 movies within two weeks of debuting in 2025. Additionally, nearly 70% of viewers who watched an A24 film went on to stream multiple titles from the studio, averaging four films per viewer.

Royce Battleman, executive vice president of global content acquisitions for Warner Bros. Discovery, praised A24 as a key creative partner, citing the studio’s bold storytelling and loyal audience as a strong fit for HBO Max’s brand.

Upcoming A24 films headed to HBO Max include The Drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, The Death of Robin Hood with Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer, Enemies starring Jeremy Allen White and Austin Butler, and Primetime featuring Robert Pattinson. The renewed deal reinforces HBO Max’s strategy of pairing major studio releases with acclaimed independent films to drive subscriber engagement.
