Cop booked for 'aiding' flour smuggling

A police constable posted in the jurisdiction of Wah Saddar Police Station has been found involved in facilitating the smuggling of wheat and flour to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collusion with officials of the food department.
Following a raid by the SHO, messages recovered from the constable's mobile phone confirmed the illegal activity, after which a case was registered against him under the Police Order.
According to police, SHO Wah Saddar Cantt Asif Iqbal Khan, while registering the case, stated that he was present at the police station when a complaint was received against Constable Abdul Qadir.
The complaint alleged that the constable, in collusion with Food Department staff at Brahma picket, was facilitating the transportation of vehicles loaded with wheat and flour from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa via the motorway for personal gain, despite restrictions imposed by the Government of Punjab.
Upon receiving the information, the SHO reached Brahma picket and initiated an inquiry.
During the inspection of the constable's mobile phone, WhatsApp messages were found showing coordination with several individuals regarding the illegal transportation of loaded vehicles to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
