Six killed in landslide in Kohat district

At least six people were killed on Wednesday when a landslide struck Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Kohat district, rescue officials said.

The rescuers have so far recovered the bodies of six people during the rescue operation. One injured person, Riaz Ali Khan alias Good, son of Aitbar Khan, is being provided with medical assistance at the site. Meanwhile, Faizan, son of Haji Rehman, remains trapped under the debris, and rescue operations are continuing to recover him.
According to Rescue 1122, the deceased have been identified as: Talat son of Wakeel, FC personnel Fayaz son of Riaz, Abid son of Parvez, Daniyal son of Zafar Ali, Sabir son of Iqbal, and Faraz son of Farzand Ali.
The landslide occurred in the Qamar Killi area on the outskirts of Tehsil Gambat, according to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi.
Rescue 1122 teams were dispatched to the site soon after the incident and began efforts to reach those buried under the rubble. Three people were pulled out initially, including one person who was already dead and two others who were injured, the spokesperson said. The two injured victims later died from their injuries.
