German envoy visits historic shrine

ISLAMABAD:

Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Pakistan Ina Lepel visited the historic shrine Darbar Mohra Sharif, Rawalpindi and met with its custodian, Pir Mujtaba Farooq Gull.

During the visit, the Ambassador was briefed on the shrine's rich spiritual legacy and its ongoing social and welfare initiatives.

Darbar Mohra Sharif, a 200-year-old Sufi centre, continues to promote universal values including humanity, peace, interfaith harmony, education, countering violence and extremism, women empowerment, tolerance and justice.

Ina also toured the Mohra Sharif Library, historical archives and the Mazar of Mohra Sharif, where she observed efforts to preserve cultural heritage, rare manuscripts, and historical records reflecting the spiritual and cultural history of the region.

Afterwards, she also visited the associated educational institution, Al Farooq Islamic and Modern Studies, where she interacted with students and emphasised that skilled education plays a vital role in making Pakistan more stable and prosperous.

After the tour, Helping First Welfare Chairman Sahabzada Omer Farooq Gull expressed gratitude to Ina for visiting the holy shrine and for appreciating its spiritual, educational and welfare services.
