Conference on Jan 7 to lower political temperature

ISLAMABAD:

In a bid to ease escalating political tensions in the country, the National Dialogue Committee (NDC) has announced that it will convene a national consultative conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Jan 7.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, senior politician and former information minister Fawad Chaudhry, a key member of the committee, said the initiative is focused on lowering the political temperature rather than conducting negotiations on behalf of any political party.

Fawad said the committee believes that confidence-building must begin with humanitarian relief, particularly for women and political workers incarcerated in Kot Lakhpat Jail.
