ISLAMABAD: Pakistan needs to build more nuclear power plants to provide energy relief that its people so desperately need and therefore requires international collaboration, said chairman of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) Dr Ansar Parvez.
He said, the government has already taken upon itself to install 8,800mw of nuclear power by the year 2030, according to a press release issued by the PAEC on Wednesday.
Speaking at the 55th IAEA General Conference, Parvez said, “We strongly believe that restrictions that have historically impeded the nuclear power in our country have long outlived any rationale they might have had.”
