JIT submits report in Dr Warda case

The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed in the Dr Warda kidnapping and murder case has sent its report to the provincial government.
Statements of more than 100 people related to the case were recorded. The seven-member JIT, under the leadership of Head of the Provincial Inspection Team Ehtesham Hassan, submitted its detailed report to the provincial government yesterday, after three weeks.
The JIT, which included the head of the provincial inspection team, special branch, CTD heads, district public prosecutor, AIG Sonia Shamroz Khan, doctors and lawyers, was formed by the provincial government on the demand of doctors and the public after Dr Warda's murder. The first JIT was given five days to complete the report, but the JIT members asked the provincial government for three weeks.
JIT members and former Nazim Ishaq Zakaria, representative of the District Bar, while talking to the media, said that the statements of more than 100 people related to the case, including lawyers, business community, civil society and people from the district administration, were recorded. After carefully reviewing all the statements, the investigation officers probed 25 to 30 statements.
