Karachi received its first winter drizzle on Tuesday, reported in several areas, bringing relief from the prevailing dry weather and making conditions more pleasant.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said light rain and drizzle are expected during the night and may continue on Wednesday. The PMD said intermittent light showers could persist, which may lead to a further drop in mercury across the city.

Residents welcomed the rainfall, saying it improved the overall weather conditions after a long dry spell. Authorities have been instructed to remain prepared to deal with any situation that may arise due to the rain.

According to the PMD’s Early Warning Centre, a system of western winds is currently affecting western Balochistan and is expected to move towards the central and northern parts of the country during the day.

Under the influence of this system, Karachi weather is likely to remain partly cloudy, with chances of light rain and drizzle in various areas over the next two days.
