KARACHI:

The Sindh government has cancelled wheat supply orders to traders after a potential protest threat and ultimatum from the Flour Mills Association.

According to an emergency notice issued by the Sindh Food Department, all new wheat dispatches to traders have been suspended. However, traders can still collect wheat from previously issued invoices.

Earlier, the Flour Mills Association had protested the sale of wheat to traders, warning that after January 15, flour supplies to the public could be disrupted. The association’s second ultimatum forced the government to withdraw the earlier notification before it expired.
