Depalpur issues security plan for New Year’s night

Over 900 cops deployed; warning of strict action against one-wheeling, aerial firing issued

DEPALPUR:

Police have rolled out a comprehensive and effective security plan for New Year’s Night to ensure the safety of citizens and maintain law and order.

The DPO said that strict restrictions will be enforced during New Year’s celebrations, including a complete ban on one-wheeling, aerial firing, hooliganism and all forms of unlawful activity.

He warned that violations will be dealt with under a zero-tolerance policy, with legal action against offenders.

He further stated that elements involved in harassing women or citizens will face legal action and will be arrested without discrimination.

Under the security plan, more than 900 police officers and personnel will be deployed across the city.

The force includes inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, head constables and constables.

Special pickets and patrolling will be ensured at sensitive locations, recreational spots and major thoroughfares to prevent any untoward incident.

DPO Okara appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activity immediately to Police Helpline 15.
