Amy Poehler recalls getting into a fight on a plane after swearing in front of co‑star’s baby
A man on the plane scolded Poehler for using swear words in front of Mean Girls co-star Ana Gasteyer's baby daughter

Amy Poehler recounted the incident while chatting with Mean Girls co-star Ana Gasteyer on the Christmas episode of her Good Hang podcast.
She revealed, “I got in a fight with a guy on a plane,” after he complained about her swearing in front of Gasteyer’s daughter, Frances.
Poehler added with humor, “My Boston came out,” referencing her strong accent and spirited response during the exchange.
The comedian admitted that the situation escalated because the man was particularly aggressive. Gasteyer, who was seated nearby with her daughter, laughed as she remembered, “It was the best thing I’ve ever seen.”
The man apparently got mad at Poehler for using swear words near Gasteyer's baby daughter.
Poehler also recalled telling the man, “You don’t tell me what I can and cannot do on this plane,” while the passenger insisted, “I don’t want your language near the baby.”
Poehler continued, “I was like, ‘You’re yelling at me? On a plane? For swearing?’” Gasteyer added, reflecting on the moment, “It was very Amy. She just doesn’t back down.”
The two co-stars laughed as they remembered how other passengers reacted and how the situation eventually diffused, with Poehler saying, “At some point, I just gave him the side-eye and went back to my business.” Gasteyer concluded, “That was a flight no one will forget, especially me.”
