Wildlife Rangers Punjab have intensified their province-wide crackdown against illegal hunting, rescuing protected species and initiating legal action against violators in multiple districts.
Officials said a female sambar deer that had strayed from its natural habitat in the Gujrat region was safely rescued during a wildlife protection operation.
The animal was later shifted to the Wildlife Park in Joharabad, where it is receiving proper care and monitoring.
In a separate operation in Rahim Yar Khan, Wildlife Rangers arrested three individuals red-handed for illegally hunting partridges.
The suspects were booked under relevant wildlife protection laws and fined more than Rs150,000 for violating regulations related to the hunting of protected bird species.
Meanwhile, in district Layyah, Wildlife Rangers conducted a raid against illegal hunting activities involving doves and pigeons.
While two suspects managed to flee the scene, cases have been registered against them, and raids are ongoing to ensure their arrest.
Officials said the recent operations reflect the department's renewed resolve to curb wildlife crimes and protect endangered and protected species across Punjab.
