Minor girl raped, murdered in Rodaala

A five-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered in Rodaala area on Monday. The victim's body was later recovered from a cornfield.

Police said the victim, a five-year-old girl, left her home yesterday evening to buy candies from a nearby shop in Chak 368-GB, Thana Rodaala Road. On the way, she reportedly fell prey to a suspect who lured her to nearby fields.

There, he allegedly assaulted the minor and then murdered her in an attempt to conceal his crime.

After an extensive search, the body of little girl was found in a cornfield.

Upon notification, police arrived, took custody of the body, and initiated legal proceedings. Authorities stated that an investigation from all angles is underway.

Police, led by SP Bakhtiar Ahmed, arrested the suspect, Ihsan, within hours. He has been transferred to an undisclosed location for interrogation. Police officials added that further facts will emerge once the investigation is complete.

Meanwhile, two people were injured when the roof of a shop collapsed at Lal Mill Chowk. Sources said the incident occurred in the Shams Center area of Tata Bazaar Road, Lal Mill Chowk.
