FAISALABAD:

In an effort to curb accidents caused by uncovered manholes, Faisalabad's divisional and district administrations, in coordination with WASA, have tightened measures against theft and negligence, following tragic incidents in Lahore and Karachi.

Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar has approved dividing the city into 13 operational zones for prompt delivery of services and resolution of public complaints.

Teams led by directors have been assigned responsibilities for each zone.

Each zone in-charge will oversee the covering of uncovered manholes, resolving sewerage issues, and addressing citizen complaints, with strict instructions that no negligence will be tolerated.

During a meeting of water and sanitation experts, the Commissioner and WASA officials outlined the 13 zonal structures.

Managing Director WASA Faisalabad Saqib Raza announced that the WASA helpline 1334 remains operational 24/7 and a Quick Response Force has been established to immediately cover missing manholes and slabs.

Supervised by the Assistant Director (CRC), the force remains on high alert at the WASA Head Office to respond to any night-time reports.
